We have so far made three trips up to Cold Spring, NY on Metro North, to hike up the precipitous Breakneck Ridge. These hikes are not for the timid, and we always come down the mountains weary but satisfied. There is always pizza waiting for us in the village of Cold Spring. This hike involves plenty of scrambles up rocks, but ultimately rewards us with sweeping views of the Hudson valley. On the last trip, we added Taurus Mountain to our itinerary, and on the top of that peak, could see the Twin towers in Manhattan, atleast 75 miles away.
