Our Totem Pole

The Environmental Club was getting restless this winter. Students wanted to create something artistic that could be constructed indoors and placed in some prominent place in the garden. It was decided that a totem pole could be created from one of the old logs lying unused in the garden. Various ideas were proposed, and finally, one student had the brilliant idea of placing flags representing the nations our families had come from on the pole. This turned out to be such a good idea as we had over 50 nations represented in the membership of our club at that time. Nations as far flung as the Dominican Republic, China, Russia, Albania, Israel, Kenya, Jordan, and Nepal were included.
