Elaine Langer, President |
All in all, this was a pretty silly year. Aside from the constant unexplainable giggles erupting during meetings among our club leadership and the antics of alumnus Ivan Cedeno, who must have fallen in the pond atleast ten times over the year, we were able to accomplish much and still have lots of fun. There was never a year in which the garden was full of such mirth. It wasn't only our songbirds who were enjoying themselves, but when it was discovered that various members were caught munching on birdseed, things started to make sense. No huge projects were undertaken this year. It was a year in which we needed to catch our breath. Thanks to the federally funded Uplinc program, we were able to have a large group of students working in the garden through the summer, keeping everything well watered and weeded. We did invest a good amount of club money buying new plant materials, and bought some new shrubs and trees, and as a result, the garden matured and filled out nicely. The pix for this year will demonstrate that. The club was led by Elaine Langer this year. Under her diligent, conscientious, and occasionally silly leadership, the club continued as an organization of over 100+ students. Special thanks this year goes to Ebby Agu, Jose Arias, Hansel Baez, Joyes Baby, Evagelia Bakoulis, Tristan Benitez, Adrian Brozowski, Wendy Camey, Marysol Cardenas, Geraldo Ciprian, Arthur Cortes, Cristina David, Michael Delgado, Mahammood Elahi, Diomarys Escano, Salid Garcia, Nazish Hafeez, Lillian Herrera, Mersida Ibric, Omer Ilyas, Simeon Kazmetski, Lana Kempton, Liza Kempton, Sara Kempton, Hifza Khan, Fakhar Khan, Jessica Mercado, Elizabeth Osewalt, Marco Palau, Yashira Pepin, Sylvia Perez, Fahaam Razack, Adam Schwartz, Kashmir Supersad, Tabatha Smith, and Joshua Vazquez. |
