Fahaam Razack,

President

After a few years of exceedingly dry weather, we finally received record rainfall. New York City experienced one of the coldest winters on record, and had a few months of record rainfall (especially the case in May and August). While we barely had to do any watering this year, we struggled to keep up with the weeds. Under the leadership of Fahaam, the club attracted many new members, some from the Marble Hill International School which is housed within Kennedy. We had great turnouts on scheduled workdays, and kept busy with new plantings and some reonfigurations. Some of the major projects included the removal of the herb beds out in the parking lot, extending the lawn, enlarging the picnic area, and adding a picnic table. View some of the pages here to learn more about some of the changes the garden experienced this year.
The club continued to hold meetings in Mr. Thoman's old classroom .... 854.

Celia, left, is one of the garden managers this year

Crystal has brought lots of new ideas to the club, and is keeping tabs on club hours

Debbie is the club secretary is in charge of the monthly newsletter

Karang is the Treasurer, and has helped manage the money being collected for two charities: saving the polar bear in Alaska, and protecting the Atlantic Rain Forest in Brazil, both through the World Wildlife Fund

Under the leadership of Abdus and Fahaam, the club has made some huge strides this year in regaining its bearings and attracting lots of new students to the organization.
